Faith Hill

"Breathe"
From the suggestive series of photos
in the CD's packaging to the aerobicized dance-floor workouts
within, Hill refuses to concede an inch of crossover dominance
to Shania Twain. Except for a seductive duet with husband Tim
McGraw on "Let's Make Love" and an occasional pinch
of fiddle or steel guitar, there's little here to characterize
Hill as a country artist. As pop, the results range from pretty
("Breathe," "Love Is a Sweet Thing") to pretty
slight ("I Got My Baby," "If My Heart Had Wings")
to borderline inane ("Bringing Out the Elvis," the
voyeuristic twist of "The Way You Love Me")Don McLeese |
Customer review from Amazon
Reviewer: Annie from Jackson, MS
The people that give this CD a bad rating just do that because
they are mad that she no longer sounds as country as she did
on her first 2 CD's, but that doesn't mean that this CD isn't
any good! It's one of my favorite CD's ever and for those people
who think Faith forgotten her country roots, I just saw her in
concert at the Jackson Zoo on July 1st and she must have thanked
us at least 3 separate times for "Wild One". This CD
has a so many upbeat fun songs like "If My Heart Had Wings"
and "The Way You Love Me" and "What's In It For
Me" along with songs that are slower but blow you away in
the end like "That's How Love Moves" and songs with
a gospel feel that have a strong message like "There Will
Come A Day". Faith didn't sing it at the concert I went
to though. But, for all of the reasons above, you really should
get this CD! Ab |
