"A New Day Has Come"
Doubters who expect little from Celine
Dion but turgid ballads will be surprised by her return to recording
after several years. On A New Day Has Come, the big production
numbers most associated with the Canadian superstar's name ("My
Heart Will Go On," "Because You Loved Me") are
evoked by the two versions of "I Surrender" and somewhat
lifeless covers of "At Last" and "Nature Boy."
At the same time, though, Dion shows her willingness to stretch
on the classic-house homage "Sorry for Love" and the
unavoidably catchy "Right in Front of You" and "Ten
Days." The album's unexpected, often low-key production
allows her to emote in a straightforward way that gracefully
skirts the chest thumping of past days, and the relative subtlety
works in her favor. Still, New Day will hardly prove a shocker
for Celine's many fans. Crowning the conservative Dion a forward-thinking
diva seems a bit premature, but this agreeable record opens the
door to such a possibility. --Rickey Wright |

Celine Dion's new album A New Day
Has Come is the bomb! It is the best out of all Celine's others.
Well except there's a few changes in the sound of her music on
this new album. First of all, Rain Tax song sounds different
than the ballad music we're used to hearing from our Queen! Then
there's Ten Days which she made sound like a rock song sorta.
etc! Also Goodbye's (The Saddest Word) is a sad song, so have
some tissues while you're at it! I almost cried when I first
heard it. I'm Alive is a great up beat song! It is also featured
on the Stuart Little 2 soundtrack and in the movie. :) Well,
I reccomend on getting this C.D. and also to those people who
say this C D is copyrighted and won't play YOU are wrong! It
plays well in my Mom's and Grandma's computer, and my Grandma's
C D player in her car, and plays well in my Stereo and my hand
held C.D. player! As you see it plays fine everywhere!! |
